Debug Beer
I recently bought this book called Coders at Work. Inside you’ll find interviews to people who need no introduction, such as Donald Knuth, Ken Thomson and many many others.
Having read less than half of it I won’t post a review but so far it has been quite entertaining.
So, lets get to the point of Debug Beer. Joe Armstrong is the father of Erlang. On his interview he says something along the lines of:
… I got to be very good at debugging. If all else failed, I would debug people’s programs. The standard debugging was one beer. Then it would go up – a two-beer problem or a three-beer problem…
I get asked lots of things on a daily basis and from now on I’ll consider all those as debugging and a beer fee ranging from zero to infinity will be associated. I’ll introduce a feature to this post, the beer counter. For now it’ll just be a dry run and will show just how much debug beer I can expect when this evil plan comes to practice during next year.
Beer Counter: 37 (updated 09/02/2010)
Fair enough and that will get you more beer than you can drink so I guess that you just found your source of infinite free(-ish) beer
Bazinga.
